Ana Carla Fonseca - Creativity Without Boundaries

Some people speak to impress. Others speak to awaken.

At CreActivo 2025, Ana Carla Fonseca did the latter.

Her session, “Aruba: Creativity Without Boundaries,” felt less like a talk and more like a turning point. She didn’t just describe the creative economy. She made everyone in the room feel its urgency.

Ana Carla reminded us that creativity is not decoration. It’s strategy. It’s what keeps societies alive when old systems begin to crumble. She spoke about involving creatives from the very start, about the power of evidence and data to shape real policy, and about how lasting change takes patience, structure, and belief.

At one point she said, “Stories are the fuel of the creative economy.”

That single line lingered. Because in Aruba, our stories are everywhere—painted on walls in San Nicolas, sung at Dande, and carried through generations who keep creating even when the world forgets to look.

Ana Carla challenged us to protect those stories and to build from them. To turn San Nicolas into a creative stronghold rooted in identity, and Oranjestad into a living lab where ideas, people, and cultures collide.

She didn’t just bring knowledge. She brought perspective. She helped us see that Aruba’s creative force is not waiting to be born. It’s already here, pulsing, ready, and limitless.

Creativity without boundaries is not just a theme. It’s an invitation.
