During the Autentico Culinary Festival, the Aruba Tourism Authority invited visitors to experience the island’s gastronomy through local restaurants and international chefs. As part of this celebration, Go Cultura Foundation was asked to curate a mural that told the story of Aruba’s culinary evolution—from its earliest traditions to the dishes that define the island today.
The mural was designed as an immersive experience, blending nostalgia, storytelling, and sound. Alongside historical visuals and culinary milestones, visitors could pick up a vintage-style telephone and listen to an elderly woman narrate traditional recipes, her voice carrying the tenderness of memory and time. To complement the story, Go Cultura also curated a series of Aruban proverbs related to food, each one reflecting the humor, wisdom, and shared spirit that flavor our daily lives.
Through this mural, we didn’t just revisit our past—we honored the generations who turned survival into flavor.
