April 17th, 2022

Official Announcement Government

Go Cultura Foundation formally presents the idea of a national Cultural and Creative Industries map — marking a historic first step toward sector-wide visibility.

June - October 2022 - The Push

Securing Funding for Pilot Mapping

Initial support from CEDE Aruba and private partners. Conversations begin around strategy and stakeholder engagement. 

October 2022 - August 2023

Creative Pulse Session

GCF hosted conversations with creatives island-wide to ensure the mapping reflects real voices from the start.

November 2022 - March 2023

First Attempt Mapping

The first research team launched survey activities under an external pilot framework.

August 26, 2024

Premature Termination

The initial researchers ended the collaboration abruptly during a delayed payment window, despite prior flexibility and institutional support. 

September - October 2024

The Rebuild: 

New Research Partner Impact Hub Aruba

A revamped methodology. A stronger team. Sector-specific training based on worldwide models adapted for Aruba.

November 2024 - June 2025

The Blueprint

Pre-Mapping & Methodology Design

Survey design, sector definitions, and workshop formats are developed. The foundation for data collection is locked in.

July 11, 2025

Methodology Secured

A formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Go Cultura Foundation and Impact Hub Aruba, establishing joint ownership of the methodology and ensuring that the mapping process would be inclusive, transparent, and locally rooted. This agreement marked a new era of accountability and collaborative research design.

August 22nd, 2025

The Creative Rollout

Go Cultura Foundation will host a national celebration with creatives to mark the official launch of the Cultural & Creative Industries survey. This event isn’t just ceremonial — it’s a call to action.

We’re honoring the sector, mobilizing participation, and publicly inviting every creative in Aruba to be seen, counted, and included in shaping the island’s future.

August 22nd - September 2025

Data Collection & Fieldwork - The Heartbeat

Surveys and interviews roll out. Creatives across the island finally get to be seen, counted, and heard. This is where Aruba’s cultural DNA is written down for the first time.
